Thai oil massage in combination with essential oils is one of the oldest methods of natural healing. We often see the inclusion of ‘Aromatherapy’ to an oil massage treatment. However, Thai Oil Massage and Aromatherapy are two different forms of treatment. Thai Oil Massage provides deep pressure, massage and stretching techniques, using palms, thumbs, and forearms, in combination with the application of oil (not necessarily with essential oils). A traditional Thai oil massage is, like a traditional Thai massage (without oil), based on the concept of the traditional Thai protocol that heals, opens and stimulates the so-called Energy Lines (meridians), also called Sen lines, helping to increase the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the body’s tissues, and eliminating toxins and increasing metabolism. This is a full body massage.
As for <Aromatherapy>, it means Healing through the use of perfumes. Essential oils are aromatic essences of plants, flowers, trees, fruits, barks, herbs, and seeds. These oils have characteristic healing properties (psychological and physical) that improve health and prevent diseases. Some oils act against viruses and infections, relieve pain, soothe, stimulate, relax and aid digestion. They also have diuretic properties. The oils can affect clarity of thought and our emotions (positive thoughts). They enter the body in three ways: inhalation, absorption through massage, and through the digestive system. Research has shown that the scents we smell have a significant effect on the way we feel. According to scientific studies, aromas directly stimulate the brain like a medicine. Essential oils work in a magical way to combat problems related to stress, psychosomatic disorders, skin infections and pain resulting from muscular or skeletal disorders. We would say they have innumerable healing properties. The molecular size of these oils is tiny so they can easily penetrate the skin and enter the circulatory system. It takes from a few seconds to two hours to enter through the skin and four hours to remove toxins from the body through urine, sweat and feces.
